About Chapman Transition

Mission Statement

Chapman Transition strives to CONSISTENTLY improve its products as a world-class, custom built, bow ramp tender.

The original concept was designed with the aging baby boomer generally in mind. There is no more climbing in and out. With the flip of a switch , the hydraulic bow ramp opens and closes. The responsiveness is unparalleled.

The concept of "adaptive" bow ramp was designed to provide a safer and easier way for everyone to have a more enjoyable boating experience, especially when getting on and off the boat. Chapman Transition bow ramps offer unparalleled ease of access, even for those with physical disabilities.

Victor Chapman, as the creator and hands-on operator of Chapman Transition, is a third generation boat builder and racer. With 40+ years in the marine industry, Victor has worked with many of the leading boat companies. Apprenticeship under Nick Chapman, he worked on the first Cigarette speed boat prototype in the 1960's. In 1989, Chapman Development Inc. was formed as a marine design, tooling, and product development company. From race boats to fishing boats to yacht tenders, Victor has worked with several world class designers such as, Zuccon International, Michael Peters Yacht Design, and the legendary Don Aronow. Brief history of past clients include: Apache, Bertram Yachts, Cigarette, Intrepid, Jaguar, Magnum, Marine Composites, Midnight Express, Nautica, Novurania, Outerlimits, and Strike Yachts.
